VAS Maritime Exhibition

 Ships, boats, water and whales!

Now on, the Victorian Artist Society's annual Maritime Exhibition opened last night. Some beautiful images of ships, boats and ocean related themes - well stopping in to the gallery for a look. The exhibition runs until May 3. INFO

Julian Bruere was the overall winner with his fabulous work 'Le Vengeur sinks, 1794'. Julian is a master in the art of painting ships and famous naval battles, and this work shows his mastery. You can read Julian's bio and see a screen version of the work HERE. But really, a screen shot doesn't do this work justice, you need to stand in front of it and contemplate it to take in all the drama and detail.

And it was with great delight that I also received a Highly Commended award for my drawing 'Moby'. VAS exhibitions are judged to a very high standard and it is a real honor to have been awarded this prize by the well known artist and judge, Craig Penny. Thank you Craig!
